Wamaku came to work with strange spots on his face and part of his neck. He was also in a very bad mood. Anyone who knows him knows that if someone "steps in his way" on such a day, they will go home. Literally. His form of punishment for a long time has been sending people on unpaid leave. Anyone who has worked in construction for a while knows that is better than being fired. He is a thoughtful man, some say.

Wamaku is a foreman at the project. This means that he gets to talk to almost all the new girls and 'welcome' them to the project. And as a general rule, all pretty girls belong to men with ranks because they ae the ones with the biggest overtime. Wamaku is a man with a big ego who loves flossing his property especially when he notices that a mali safi might be listening. He talks about the property he has amassed in the projects, how the project manager consults him on stuff and how the resident engineer cant stop mesmerizing over the new bridge he oversaw that passed inspections on a first try. He is a big talker, no actual truth, famously known in Bongo as mtu wa sifa. Imagining him being beaten up by the wife is something that nobody can comprehend. But he, in fact, was beaten up like a dog at the mosque and his phone taken as evidence.
Julia just heard the news and she looks quite tense today, the foreman must have hinted to her what occurred. The last time Wamaku received a beating from is wife, the 'girfriend' also received some of her share on her way from the campsite. Wamaku's wife is no joke I tell you. Wamaku advised Julia to walk in public places and in company of her other friends. Like that would stop Mrs Wamaku :-D
