Wamaku's wife left two weeks ago to her home in Tanga. This was after a physical exchange with one of the foreman's many girlfriends. I use the phrase 'physical exchange' to make it appear two sided but really, the wife gave the girlfriend a beating of a lifetime. It was like using her as an example. That whoever messes with her man would get a share of that. But do Tanzanian women scare easily? No.
One of the foreman's city girlfriends heard of the incident- you know how fast word spreads in the 255. She called the man who used it as an opportunity to get pity and convince her to come over to Morogoro and see him. Getting laid would be the icing on the cake. Plus, now that the troublesome wife was not any close, chances of drama were very minimal. She promised to visit him the following week. Afterall, he was to hire her a car. A daladala wasn't an option for this kind of woman- classy, rich-sh and a social-media addict who had somehow convinced her 1000 followers that she was not a normal 'dem wa mtaa' but rather an actual rich girl. She wasn't. One of the tipper drivers recognized the lady on one of her Wamaku-time Morogoro trips. He said she hailed from their village somewhere in Kilimanjaro and he said that Daresalaam had a way of 'spoiling' ladies.
"This time I will stick to one woman," Wamaku often said after one of the confrontations occured. His kijiweni friends often laughed at his decisions and somewhat redemtion moments because they knew he wouldnt change for anyone. And if he did, it would be for his wife who comes from Tanga where everyone knows all the good witch doctors originate from.
On her way to Morogoro, Wamaku's girlfriend encountered a car problem. The hired Toyota Ist developed a mechanical problem just a few kilometres after Mlandizi. Like any woman would do, she called Wamaku who, after shouting at her for refusing to tag along a driver, tried to find a solution. "Mlandizi is urban enough, I bet we can get a mechanic there", he thought. The woman however didn't appreciate Wamaku's "I told you so" and she decided to take matters into her own hands. She asked a bodaboda passing by to find her a mechanic before dusk. Long story short, Wamaku has been working full days on weeknds and four more hours on weekdays to pay for a car he had hired for a woman who he didn't even get to see in the long run let alone get laid. The woman in Tanga might have found the right mganga don't you think?
